Review: Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy (Spoiler-Free)

This one is really hard for me to review. Some parts were a 4, and some parts were a 1. I’m torn between rating this a 3 or a 2, but I think I’m gonna stick with a 3. If I didn’t have the audiobook for this book, and if I didn’t have to finish this for book club, I would NOT have been able to get through this. So thank you to my library for having the audiobook available! I don’t have that much to say other than some parts I really liked, and then there was Alice. Alice is a horrible person, and she doesn’t really progress as a character throughout the story. I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be the case or not, but I really hope it is. There’s no way an author could write a character to say this line and want them to seem redeemable.

“You’re sad and pathetic. You have no spine, and the fact that you think someone like me could ever love someone like you only proves my point.”
