Review: Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young (Spoiler-Free)

4.5 stars! I loved this book so much more than I thought I would. Also, please note that I’m someone who usually can handle graphic violence, but this book takes it to a whole new level, so be warned. First of all, I went into this knowing one thing: Vikings. Luckily, this book brought so much more. It was full of amazing characters, a slow burn romance, family, betrayal, and brutality. This was such a simply told story, but I mean that in the best possible way. The writing was so raw that I could physically feel everything that Eelyn was going through. I understood her and had trouble making the same decisions as her. Overall, this story was amazing, but definitely more emotional than I expected. Don’t go straight into this expecting action on every page. This book is not simply full of physical battles, but it is full of emotional dilemmas and battles as well. “We find things, just as we lose things. If you’ve lost your honor, you’ll find it again.”

Song I was reminded of while reading: Brave
