Review: Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson (Spoiler-Free)

Okay so this book was not at all what I was expecting it to be, but that does not mean that there weren't any parts that I enjoyed. First of all, the synopsis gives way too much away. Literally, part of the blurb on the inside of the book tells you something that doesn't happen until the last 50 pages or so. Anyway, for the aspects that I enjoyed. - Peter Pan is always a great character, no matter what retelling he is being written into. However, I must say that because of Once Upon a Time I was picturing him like this throughout the whole book...

-I also really loved the character of Moon Eye and her little subplot throughout the story. (view spoiler) What I didn't like as much: -I was a bit disinterested with the story, and I'm not too sure as to why. It could have potentially been because the book is narrated from the perspective of Tinker Bell as she follows the main character around. It made it bit confusing when she referred to herself as "I" and I had to remember that she wasn't talking about Tiger Lily. -I also had a bit of a hard time simply caring. The only characters I really enjoyed were Pan and Moon Eye. Overall, I just don't think this book worked as a whole for me. However, I can totally see why so many others loved it. Unfortunately, I just didn't personally connect with the majority of the characters.

Song I was reminded of while reading: Lost Boy
