Review: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (Spoiler-Free)

This is definitely a book that will make you happy. Simon is an incredibly lovable character surrounded by an incredibly lovable group of friends. He is so relatable, and most of his struggles and successes are things that teens need to relate to. Overall, and adorable book, and one that every teenager needs to read. I can't wait for the movie!

“People really are like house with vast rooms and tiny windows. And maybe it's a good thing, the way we never stop surprising each other.” - Becky Albertalli (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda)

“I mean, I feel secure in my masculinity, too. Being secure in you masculinity isn't the same as being straight.” - Becky Albertalli (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda)

Simon Spier is gay. The world doesn't know that. He is in love with a boy that he talks to online, but knows that they are in the same grade at the same school. He wants to know who Blue truly is, but before he can do that he has to solve one small problem. He's being blackmailed.

Song I was reminded of while reading: Colors
