Recently I haven't been able to find a fantasy series that sucks me in for a good binge read since I started the Grisha books in spring of last year. I've finally found what I'm looking for. If you are searching for a fantasy with thieves, cities, alternate Londons, amazing characters, pirates, or any of the above, you need to read this book.
This was awesome. I started the second half of this book this morning and could not put it down again until I was done. I was just s
If you are a fan of Criminal Minds like I am, you will almost definitely be a fan of this book. This is one of the only thrillers that I've read to have such a sense ofurgency throughout the whole thing. Because it is written in chapters from both the perspective of the criminal, and the perspective of the detective, I was constantly overwhelmed with a sense of dread when I knew things that one of the characters didn't. These moments practically had me screaming at the book b
To start off... this is the exact story I've been craving since Teen Wolf ended. How could one not miss the epic sarcasm of Stiles Stilinski? I've been missing that show so much for the past couple of months and there are no good werewolf books that I've been able to find since.
Anyway, moving on, I also hadn't wanted to pick up this book for a while because I had heard a lot of negative reviews about it. However, as of recently, I heard one of my favorite booktubers say th
This is the perfect Christmas read for anyone who just wants a fun time! While I can acknowledge that it is completely and totally outrageous and unrealistic... isn't that the point?
The whole book just feels like: “Luckily, I always travel with a book, just in case I have to wait on line for Santa, or some such inconvenience.” - David Levithan (Dash & Lily's Book of Dares)
“I love snow for the same reason I love Christmas: It brings people together while time stands sti
4.5 stars because there were definitely a couple things that I didn't love about this book, but MAN does the love outweigh the critques on this one. “What’s the use of running, if we are on the wrong road.” - S. Jae-Jones (Wintersong) “Life,” he said softly, “is more than flesh. Your body is a candle, your soul the flame. The longer I burn the candle...” He did not finish.
“A candle unused is nothing but wax and wick,” I said.“I would rather light the flame, knowing it will go
Oh Lemony Snicket, how he never ceases to make me laugh. I love this series and the Baudelaire orphans, and I love to hate Count Olaf of course. A great installment of this series, and I'm very excited to continue soon and to find out what VFD really is! “The table of elements does not contain one of the most powerful elements that make up our world, and that is the element of surprise.” - Lemony Snicket (The Ersatz Elevator) Song I was reminded of while reading: A Series of
Okay so this book was not at all what I was expecting it to be, but that does not mean that there weren't any parts that I enjoyed.
First of all, the synopsis gives way too much away. Literally, part of the blurb on the inside of the book tells you something that doesn't happen until the last 50 pages or so.
Anyway, for the aspects that I enjoyed.
- Peter Pan is always a great character, no matter what retelling he is being written into. However, I must say that becaus
