Everybody needs to read this book.
Everyone can learn something from the story of Starr Carter and Khalil. Everyone can learn something from every single character in this book. Starr, Chris, Khalil, Kenya, Hailey, Maya, Maverick, King, Seven, Sekani, Lisa, Iesha, Ms. Ofrah, and of course DeVante. Even the more minor characters like Mr. Lewis deserve a huge shoutout. There is no character that does not make an impact in this story. They are all amazing and have extraordinar
I'm completely floored by this book. We are and were, would, and will always be. (If you've read the book this sentence makes sense hehe). Very little of the time will I be so enthralled by a book that I have no desire to do anything else but read it. Even during school. I legitimately broke the laws of the universe to create time for me to read this. (definitely possible shhhh) Please enjoy the following quote montage before returning to your regularly scheduled program
Well that was great. I cannot believe that this series has come to an end already! I feel like I've both been reading it forever, and only for a couple of months which is true. If you never plan on reading the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy, but somehow manage to see this review, please consider giving this beauty a try! Trust me, you will NOT regret it. To add on, the first time I read this I read it when it
I would like to preface this review by saying that I don't understand why so many people say that this book has too much romance and not enough slasher. Because while I do certainly recognize the romance, there is DEFINITELY NOT a lack of slasher! This book kind of reminded me of Riverdale in an odd way, and I'm not sure that I can really place why. Overall, it was a fun read, but the ending was pretty bad simply because I felt like nothing really wrapped up. It just ended. S
4.75 stars Okay so now that I've got my thoughts settled, and time to write a proper review, here it is! For me, this book was the perfect combination of creepy, horrifying, and thought provoking. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story, and especially appreciated how "in the head" of the main character I felt throughout the entirety of the book. The reason that I'm docking a star is because this book surrounds a fictional author and some excerpts of the fake author's "book
